My Heroes

These 2 people are my heroes for so many reasons. I will start with my cousin Joe. Many people have lots of cousins, I have 3. Joe and I have always been close. I really consider him more of a brother and I love him dearly. Growing up, he was always my friend and became such a good example of living a Christ centered life. I have always been grateful to him for that. Now he is a great father of 3, and a helicopter pilot for the Air force. He recently completed some intense training. I am so glad he is back in the safety and comfort of his home and his family's arms. Thank you Joe for your diligence, sacrifice, and example to me.

Now to his lovely wife Joan- my best friend. She and I bonded when Joe left for his mission, and have been close friends ever since. We were roommates, classmates (History of the Beatles- thank you ASU) and vacation buddies. She was also such a good example to me, someone I could always turn to for the best advice. She is an awesome mom, and such a generous, fun-loving person- I learn so much from her. She has moved her family as the Air force has demanded, she has endured long absences of her husband as he completed training, and she has done it with more grace and patience than I could ever muster.

I love you both. Thank you for what you have done for me and what you have taught me.
