So here we are at the Chicago Bears Game!! First we need to thank ICO for conducting a glaucoma study and allowing me to participate and then paying me handsomely for my time. That bonus cash allowed me to fulfill one of Alma's dreams- attend an NFL Football Game!
And we had pretty great seats, in the 100 level {very very close to the field} and had great view of all the action. We were closest to the end of the field where the Bears were warming up and where they entered the field. Above is one of the huge team huddles where they jump up and down and get all psyched up for the game. Below is the pyrotechnic show while they announce the starting line up. It was a lovely night, gentle breeze and no rain {despite the forecast}. However, there were a few unfortunates that I am sure occur in all sporting events: 1) We sat in front of people who talked incessantly, although never intelligently and always loudly. 2) What we paid for a single bottle of water could have bought us a case of it anywhere else. 3) The fans {to my embarrassment} booed Rex Grossman on and off the field, kind of sad. and 4) We lost.
But it was so FUN to participate in the traditions of Soldier Field. Singing "Bear Down Bears", and they would announce a time out like this: Announcer :"there is a time out" Crowd :"Where?" Announcer: "On the field" Crowd: "Oh" It was really funny. We had a lot of fun, and can now check it off our to do list. Mission Accomplished!
